Naturopathy & Wellness Consultations for Women
Discover True Health
What is Naturopathy?
The guiding principles of Naturopathy are:
1. Do No Harm (Primum non nocere)
= Choosing the most non-invasive and least harmful treatments necessary for each client
2. Utilize the Healing Power of Nature (Vis medicatrix naturae)
= Working with the client to encourage the body’s inherent ability to heal itself
3. Identify and Treat the Causes (Tolle causam)
= Identifying, addressing and removing the underlying causes of disease
4. Natural Health Practitioner as Teacher/ Coach (Docere)
= Educating and supporting clients regarding their personal health management and empowering them to take responsibility for their own health
5. Treat the Whole Person (Tolle totum)
= Recognizing the body as an integrated whole and therefore treating the client, not the disease. The full naturopathic assessment addresses the nutritional status, lifestyle, family history, physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental and social factors in a person’s life.
6. Prevention (Praevenic)
= Promoting a focus on overall health, wellness and disease prevention
What to expect from a Naturopathy & Wellness Consultation?
My role as your Natural Health Practitioner is to look for the root causes of the presenting health condition and to address these, rather than just focusing on symptoms. I will look at you as a whole person by investigating all of your body systems to see which ones need support.
The treatment will be individualized for each client. An initial consult will include thorough questioning and further testing, if needed, to formulate a health and wellness plan for you. This plan will be based upon your goals and also what you are capable of taking on in a flexible and supportive environment.
